The Lorain County Board of Revision is looking for qualified REALTORS® to lend their expertise and help with the process. REALTORS® who have participated in the past liked learning how the system of appraisal by the government works and the appeal process
The Lorain County Board of Revisions currently hears 20 or so cases a day. There are still enough cases to go through July. They need 10 or 12 more professionals to participate so the plan continues to succeed and does not burden anyone. READ MORE
A REALTOR® Helps Close the Deal
Selling a home can seem like a monumental task … like climbing Mount Everest! Even though, getting a signed contract is a great accomplishment, but that's only half the journey. The typical home sale today involves more than 20 steps after the initial contract is accepted to complete the transaction.
Much of what needs to be done before the closing is the responsibility of appraisers, loan processors, attorneys, and inspectors – one role a REALTOR® plays is to coordinate those responsibilities, helping to ensure that others do their jobs promptly and correctly and that the closing isn't jeopardized. Ohio and Kentucky Sign MOU to Recognize Real Estate Licenses Across State Lines
The Ohio Real Estate Commission and the Kentucky Real Estate Commission have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that allows real estate professionals licensed in one state to practice in the other without additional licensing hurdles. Under this agreement, each state will recognize the licensing standards of the other, expanding the professional mobility of real estate agents.
This MOU is a direct outcome of Ohio’s Senate Bill 131, which was passed during the 134th General Assembly. This law requires Ohio licensing authorities to recognize out-of-state licenses; however, since the law was enacted, questions have arisen surrounding its interpretation. The new agreement with Kentucky serves to clarify the law’s intent and reestablish clear license recognition between the two states. READ MORE
