One of the most rewarding aspects of being a REALTOR® is experiencing the excitement of getting our client a beautiful new home. Whether it is their first time purchasing a home or they have purchased several through the years, there is no better feeling of handing over that set of keys. The members of the Lorain County Association of REALTORS® have been enjoying this feeling for the last 50 years. As we celebrate this milestone, we as an association continue to strive to educate our members to ensure they continue to grow as professionals and can assist home buyers in making one of the biggest decisions of their life.
On November 13, 1973 the Elyria Area Board of REALTORS® and the Lorain Real Estate Board merged to form the Lorain County Association of REALTORS®. Though history dates the Lorain Real Estate Board back to 1922 and the Elyria Board to 1938, it was this day in 1973 that brought agents throughout Lorain County together to unify real estate professionals in our area.
The Lorain County Association of REALTORS® not only prides itself in being the leading advocate for home ownership the past fifty years but also is vested in being active in our communities throughout the area. This involvement takes shape in many different ways. We pride ourselves in finding ways we can support causes that help people in Lorain County and beyond. For example, our Community Outreach Committee assists in helping the hungry, aiding military families in need and supporting seniors. Our annual Golf Outing helps support local housing-related needs. Every year our Association continues to support charitable causes through fundraising and gathering donations that make a difference for those in need. This support comes through many different functions held throughout the course of the year.
No professional association would be in the forefront of their community without preferred partners. Our Affiliate Members (consisting of real estate related industries/businesses such as lenders, home inspectors, title companies, etc.) and guided by the Affiliate Committee not only support our members as professionals but also as individuals. That support is unwavering and greatly appreciated by all of our REALTOR® members. There are many committees in our association that promote professionalism and community involvement in our Association.
As we continue to celebrate the past 50 years throughout 2023, it is our steadfast goal to continue to enhance the professional growth of our members, to support our affiliate partners and to strive to be in the forefront of home ownership in Lorain County.
The Lorain County Association of REALTORS® is one of more than 1,200 local boards and associations of REALTORS® nationwide that comprise the National Association of REALTORS®.
REALTOR® is a registered collective membership mark which may be used only by real estate professionals who are members of the National Association of REALTORS® and subscribe to its strict Code of Ethics. Not all real estate sales agents are REALTORS®. All REALTORS® are members of NAR along with their State and Local Association.
