The REALTOR® Code of Ethics

As part of LoCAR's continuing effort to inform the general public of real estate issues, the following article was submitted to the Morning Journal, The Chronicle-Telegram and LorainCounty.com: Do you know the difference between a REALTOR® and a real estate agent? As REALTORS®, our success isn’t measured by the bottom line. It’s measured by the trust of our clients and customers and the esteem in which we’re held by our colleagues and competitors. The Lorain County Association of REALTORS® was founded with the goal of uniting the real estate profession through high standards to protect buyers and sellers. The Code of Ethics continues to be what sets us apart as REALTORS®. NAR's Code of Ethics, adopted in 1913, was one of the first codifications of ethical duties adopted by any business group. The Code ensures that consumers are served by requiring REALTORS® to cooperate with each other in furthering clients' best interests. READ MORE

As you know ... the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) requires all REALTORS® to complete Code of Ethics training within a specific time frame. The training must meet specific learning objectives and criteria established by NAR. The current ends December 31, 2024. READ MORE
