A message was sent out on April 18, 2025 that began with "This is an important message from the Lorain County Commissioners and the Lorain County Emergency Management Agency." This is a legitimate message and has a link that will lead residents to the sign-up portal for the new alerting system
You will continue to receive alerts from the data transferred from the old system if you were previously registered.
However, it is highly recommended that you create an account in the new system. This will allow you to set a username and password and update your information as needed. The old system did not allow you to have a sign in so this will be for a new account (you will not have an old username or password). For the new system, you will need to register.
